Carriage House Renovation
Formerly consisting of a commercial garage at first floor level and a residential unit above, Wyant Architecture was commissioned to transform a three-story carriage house structure in the Graduate Hospital section of Philadelphia into a single family home. Interior spaces were reconfigured throughout, and a new kitchen was tucked beneath a contemporary open stair detailed to connect the first floor to spaces above. An industrial garage door was converted into a gracious entry with frosted glass windows at street level to illuminate previously dark interior space while offering privacy from passersby on the street.
